tbh all the people (here in the us) posting about bombings in iraq and other parts of the world is really hypocritical
1-you never would have called attention to those things if this hadn’t happened today. most likely you wouldn’t have cared or known if it weren’t to make a point that is trying to undermine the suffering in one event over another (you shouldn’t be doing that anyway ok)
and “the whole world” is not mourning, your surroundings are because this event happened not very far away from you. people you know were there, their friends or family got hurt. it’s closer to home, so you’re gonna hear about it more. be thankful you weren’t directly affected.
this isn’t a time to shame others for paying “too much” attention to something terrible that could have personally affected everyone around you
yes this isn’t common at all in the u.s. and we are very lucky to be this safe and this is not the case in other countries and it’s fucking horrible, but for fuck’s sake do you not understand why people here are reacting differently to something that happened in boston rather than iraq??
(posting this here because I don’t wanna comment on facebook and have everyone hate me for having an opinion)
